Alpha Gal Prep ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by Columbia Software Works LLC, provides educational tools and content about alpha-gal syndrome. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.

The short version: Our free tools run in your browser and do not send or store the health details you enter. We collect your email only if you choose to share it. We don't sell your personal information.

Information you choose to give us

Email address — if you sign up for updates or contact us.
Purchase details — if you buy a kit, our payment processor (Stripe) collects the information needed to process the payment. We receive confirmation of the purchase and your email, but we do not receive or store your full card number.
Messages — anything you include when you email us.

Information collected automatically

Basic usage and device data — such as pages viewed and general location or browser type, through privacy-conscious analytics, to understand what's useful and improve the site.
Hosting logs — our host (Cloudflare) may process standard request data to deliver and secure the site.

Health-related inputs to our tools

Our free tools are designed to run in your browser. The symptoms, medications, exposure notes, and similar details you enter are used only to generate your on-screen or printable result. We do not transmit or store those inputs on our servers unless a specific tool clearly states otherwise at the point of use.

How we use information

To provide the tools, content, and any kit you purchase.
To send updates or respond to you, if you've asked us to.
To understand usage and improve the site's education and tools.
To keep the site secure and comply with legal obligations.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information only with service providers who help us operate the site — for example, our email provider, payment processor (Stripe), hosting provider (Cloudflare), and analytics provider — and only as needed to perform those services. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Cookies and analytics

We use a limited number of cookies or similar technologies to run the site and measure general usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some may affect how parts of the site work.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above — for example, we keep your email while you're subscribed and purchase records as required for accounting and legal purposes. You can ask us to delete information we hold about you.

Ask us what personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; contact us to exercise them.

Children's privacy

The site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the "Effective" date above and, for significant changes, provide a more prominent notice.
